Sanur beach has beautiful white sand and the water was calm and warm sea. The location of this beach is in the village of Sanur, the eastern part of the city of Denpasar. Sanur beach has been famous since the first, especially when Puputan Badung war on 20 September 1906, at which time the Dutch troops landed on this beach. There is a stone monument found in this place, which is an inscription of King Sri Kesari Warmadewa the palace in the year 917.
Sanur beach was first introduced by the Belgian artist AJ Le Mayeur and his wife named Ni Polok who settled in Sanur since 1937. He made his own work painting exhibition and start introduces Sanur as a tourist spot in Bali. On the southeast side we can see the island of Nusa Penida, and on the east side we can see a beautiful view of the Lombok Strait with Mount Agung in the background. Tropical atmosphere is swept across the Sanur beach making it the ideal place to relax.
Sanur beach is situated just 4 km from the center of Denpasar and can be reached by car or motorcycle. The beach is much visited by tourists, both foreign and domestic, especially in the holiday season or weekends. On the full moon night a lot of people come to this place to relax, swim, or just enjoy the beauty of the beach. Le Mayeur Museum is one of the art museums in Sanur which has many paintings to attract tourists to visit this place. As a tourist in Bali, Sanur is one of the alternatives for organizing class events locally, nationally and internationally, for example Kite Festival and Competition Jukung (traditional boat). Other tourist facilities are in place this is an international standard, such as the Inna Grand Bali Beach Hotel, Bali Hyatt Resort, Sanur Beach Hotel, and much more. Some of these tourist facilities combined with other facilities for local people so that a combination of proper tourist area, which is different from the Nusa Dua area that is covered.
